What matters for ICX
Coin-specific reference notes. Exchange support must still be checked separately.
What is ICON?
ICON is the legacy blockchain whose native coin is ICX, while its ecosystem is transitioning to SODAX and the SODA token on Sonic. The Foundation documents a 1:1 ICX-to-SODA migration. ICX and SODA are different assets on different networks, even when an exchange uses legacy ICON naming.
How can you buy ICON safely?
Before buying, establish whether you want legacy ICX or migrated SODA and confirm the platform's supported network. Review its conversion policy, withdrawal status and complete order total. Use official migration instructions only; sending ICX to a Sonic address or buying a same-named token does not perform the documented swap.
How much does it cost to buy ICON?
Buying costs depend on the asset being delivered: legacy ICX or SODA on Sonic, plus platform spread, payment, trading and withdrawal charges. Migration may require network transactions as well. ICON fees use ICX, whereas the Foundation's migration guide identifies S as Sonic gas; those are not interchangeable fee balances.
How can you store ICON securely?
Keep control of the recovery credentials for both legacy ICON and Sonic accounts if you are migrating. Verify every migration approval and receiving network, and ignore unsolicited support links. A custodial provider's conversion policy is separate from self-custody; old ICX wallet support alone does not prove SODA support.
How do you send ICON to another wallet?
Send ICX only through an ICON deposit or wallet route, leaving ICX available for STEP fees and including any exchange-required memo. SODA transfers instead use Sonic and need its gas asset S. An ICX transfer to the wrong chain is not the Foundation's 1:1 migration process.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you buy ICON on Bitso?
This checklist does not confirm current access to ICX in your Bitso account. Check the exact asset, spot or purchase product, and residence rules before depositing. Any public catalogue observation above is dated, product-specific evidence, not account eligibility or withdrawal support.
What is the minimum cost to buy ICX on Bitso?
Use the minimum and total charge displayed for your exact account, asset and order type. No current account-specific minimum is verified on this page. Any dated catalogue constraints above are not a universal retail purchase minimum or a total-cost quote. Trading, funding, spread and withdrawal costs must be checked separately.
How long does buying ICX on Bitso take?
There is no verified fixed completion time on this page. Identity review, funding settlement, order execution and withdrawal holds are separate stages. Check the status and estimated timing shown for each stage in your account; an accepted deposit does not guarantee an immediately withdrawable purchase.
What should you check before withdrawing ICX?
Confirm that the exchange and wallet support the same asset representation and network, and check whether a memo or tag is required. Review the destination address, minimum, network fee and withdrawal hold. Neither account registration nor a public spot listing certifies withdrawal support, insurance or the safety of your balance. This is not financial advice.
