How does BNB work?
BSC runs EVM-compatible smart contracts using Proof of Staked Authority, where bonded validators produce and finalize blocks. BNB pays for gas and supports validator selection through staking; it is not produced by Bitcoin-style proof-of-work mining or by merely holding an exchange balance.

Who created BNB?
Binance launched BNB, initially as an ERC-20 token in 2017, before native BNB networks existed. Its subsequent blockchain uses and the Chain Fusion migration are separate developments; holding BNB does not by itself give you equity or an ownership claim in Binance.
