How does Filecoin work?
Filecoin links block production to proven storage rather than Bitcoin-style hashing. Providers commit storage, submit proofs and lock FIL collateral; built-in actors track storage power and distribute rewards. FVM contracts execute on Filecoin itself, so EVM compatibility does not turn FIL into ETH.
Who created Filecoin?
Juan Benet founded the Filecoin project, as identified in Filecoin's official founder Q&A announcement. Founder attribution does not mean one person controls user balances or guarantees the network's future.
