Harmony
(ONE)

Harmony is a smart-contract blockchain whose native asset is ONE. It uses proof-of-stake security and supports EVM applications. Native ONE is different from tokens bridged onto Harmony, and the project's historical sharding design should not be confused with an instruction to use any shard a wallet happens to offer.

What is Harmony?

Answer sources checked

How does Harmony work?

Harmony uses Effective Proof of Stake to select validators and a BFT-style consensus process to agree on blocks. Holders can delegate ONE, while validators face penalties for certain failures or misconduct. EVM compatibility allows familiar application tools, but the transaction still runs on Harmony rather than Ethereum.

Who created Harmony?

Stephen Tse is identified as Harmony's founder in the project's official documentation. Founder attribution is separate from the roles of network validators and application developers, and does not imply a personal guarantee of transactions or investment results.

Source 1

What is Harmony used for?

ONE pays Harmony transaction fees, supports validator staking and delegation, and participates in network governance. Applications can use Harmony's EVM environment, but their tokens and services have independent risks. Holding ONE does not establish the backing of bridged assets or guarantee that every ecosystem application remains supported.

Sources 2

Where can you buy Harmony?

Verify ONE on a platform's official trading interface, including country eligibility and current native-network withdrawals. Harmony's wallet guidance specifies mainnet shard 0 for exchange workflows, but that does not prove a particular exchange currently supports ONE. Check its live deposit instructions instead of relying on a comparison matrix.

How to buy Harmony

How much Harmony?

Before fees and spread. Rounded display, not network precision or an exchange minimum. This is an estimate, not an exchange order quote.

How can you buy Harmony safely?

Before buying ONE, confirm Harmony withdrawal support and the recipient's network and address instructions. Use the official network configuration rather than a random RPC sent in a message. Native ONE is not interchangeable with a bridged token, and no support agent needs your recovery phrase to arrange a withdrawal.

Sources 2

Can you buy a fraction of Harmony?

Yes. ONE has 18 decimal places, with its smallest unit called Atto in Harmony's documentation. A service can still impose larger trading or withdrawal minimums and fewer displayed decimals. Fractional ownership is therefore possible without assuming every protocol-level amount is practical to purchase or withdraw.

Source 1

How much does it cost to buy Harmony?

Your ONE purchase cost includes the order value plus the platform's spread, trading and funding charges. Withdrawing adds any stated service charge, and using Harmony later requires ONE for gas. Bridging an asset is a separate operation; its costs and backing cannot be inferred from a cheap native transfer.

Sources 2

How much is one Harmony worth?

ONE's value changes with market trading; consult this page's timestamped dynamic reference panel. Native ONE pays Harmony gas, but its quote does not value the separate bridged assets held by Harmony applications. Check that the order is for ONE and that the intended withdrawal route is supported; execution and delivered amounts can differ from the reference.

Source 1

Is Harmony a good investment?

ONE has price, validator, application and custody risks. Delegation introduces operator performance and slashing exposure, while bridged tokens depend on systems beyond Harmony consensus. Low fees or fast finality do not establish the safety of an application or the value of its assets. This is not financial advice.

Harmony wallets & storage

How do you get a Harmony wallet?

Use an EVM-compatible wallet with Harmony's official mainnet configuration, and confirm shard 0 for the documented exchange or staking workflow. The project provides MetaMask setup guidance. Follow the wallet publisher's backup procedure and verify the active network before copying a receiving address or approving an application.

Sources 2

How can you store Harmony securely?

Keep the recovery phrase for your Harmony wallet private and retain enough ONE for required transactions. Verify both the active network and the contract before approving an application. Self-custody protects signing control, not the solvency of bridged assets; custodial balances instead depend on the provider's security and withdrawal access.

How do you send Harmony to another wallet?

Select Harmony and the network or shard required by the recipient, then send native ONE to its verified address. Official guidance uses mainnet shard 0 for exchange transfers. Keep ONE for gas and follow any platform-specific deposit fields; an Ethereum-looking address alone does not establish Ethereum-network compatibility.

Sources 2

How long does a Harmony transfer take?

Harmony's consensus is designed for fast block finality, but an exchange withdrawal or deposit has separate processing rules. Check whether a transaction has been broadcast and accepted on the intended network. Bridge movements and unstaking are different workflows, so they should not inherit an ordinary transfer's expected timing.

Sources 2

How much does it cost to send Harmony?

Harmony charges gas in native ONE. The required gas depends on the operation: a contract call can cost more than a basic value transfer. Inspect your wallet's current estimate, keep a gas balance and separate the network charge from any exchange withdrawal fee or bridge-service charge.

Source 1

Can you cash out Harmony for real money?

ONE can be cashed out only through a provider that accepts the specified Harmony deposit and supports selling plus fiat withdrawal for your account. Confirm the recipient's network and shard requirements before sending. Exchanging ONE for a stablecoin or another Harmony token does not itself produce a bank withdrawal.

Sources 2

Is Harmony traceable?

Ordinary Harmony transactions are visible through its public explorer. EVM-style addresses do not automatically reveal names, but disclosed receiving addresses and exchange records can connect activity to people. Switching wallets or address display formats is not a privacy guarantee, and application interactions may expose additional information.

Sources 2

Supply, mining & staking

What is the maximum supply of Harmony?

Harmony's documented economic model uses ongoing annual issuance with transaction-fee offset, rather than a Bitcoin-style finite total cap. Its stated annual issuance ceiling is not a maximum lifetime supply. Distinguish issuance, burned fees and circulating ONE, and check current governance rules before relying on older tokenomics figures.

Sources 2

Can you mine Harmony?

No, native ONE is not produced by proof-of-work mining. Harmony uses Effective Proof of Stake, with validators and delegators participating in security and reward distribution. Mining terminology in an unrelated app or yield service does not turn it into the network's native consensus mechanism.

Source 1

Can you stake Harmony?

Yes. ONE holders can delegate to validators under Harmony's Effective Proof-of-Stake system. Validator availability, commission and penalties affect outcomes; delegation is not a fixed-return deposit. Use the documented staking interface and correct network, and review withdrawal conditions rather than assuming staked coins remain immediately transferable.
