How does Klaytn work?
Kaia continues Klaytn's EVM-compatible network with an optimized Istanbul BFT consensus system. Council-operated consensus nodes and committees produce and validate blocks, supported by staking. This is not proof-of-work mining or an automatically permissionless validator role for every wallet holding KAIA.
Who created Klaytn?
Klaytn originated in Kakao's blockchain ecosystem, while Finschia came from LINE's ecosystem. Their foundations jointly proposed the merger that became Kaia. The resulting network brings together those project lineages; owning KAIA does not grant equity in Kakao, LINE or their subsidiaries.
