How does Radix work?

Radix processes signed transactions that describe intended operations through a transaction manifest. Validators participate in consensus with delegated XRD, while the network charges XRD for execution and other resources. Reviewing a manifest matters because a transaction can authorize more than a simple coin transfer.

Who created Radix?

Dan Hughes founded Radix and was its original architect, as the project's own retrospective explains. The subsequent network, Foundation and developer community involve multiple contributors. Attribution to the founder does not imply that the Foundation controls every validator or holds users' wallet keys.

Before fees and spread. Rounded display, not network precision or an exchange minimum. This is an estimate, not an exchange order quote.

Can you buy a fraction of Radix?

You can acquire and transfer a fraction of XRD rather than a whole token. The actual usable amount depends on platform precision, minimum orders and withdrawals, plus the XRD retained for Radix fees. eXRD on Ethereum also requires the separate network's gas arrangements.

Is Radix a good investment?

XRD carries market, application, validator and ecosystem-development risks. The Foundation's April 2026 announcement of maintenance mode from May and community governance creates additional execution uncertainty; it does not by itself mean the chain stopped. Neither staking nor a supply ceiling guarantees returns. This is not financial advice.

Radix wallets & storage

How can you store Radix securely?

Protect the recovery material and signing devices used by your Radix wallet, and inspect transaction manifests before approving application interactions. Confirm exact native XRD support before choosing a hardware integration. A custodial balance, validator delegation and an eXRD bridge each introduce different dependencies.

How do you send Radix to another wallet?

To send native XRD, obtain the recipient's current Radix account address, review the transfer manifest and retain XRD for fees. Confirm the destination supports Babylon and the intended asset. Moving eXRD from Ethereum is a separate conversion or bridge workflow, not a normal Radix address transfer.

Sources 4

How long does a Radix transfer take?

A Radix transfer depends on submission, validator processing and transaction commitment, followed by any platform crediting checks. An eXRD conversion adds a separate network or service step. A failed or rejected transaction is not the same as a completed payment, so check its recorded outcome.

Sources 2

How much does it cost to send Radix?

Radix fees are paid in native XRD and can include execution, storage, royalties and optional tips. A committed transaction that fails can still incur fees. Use the current wallet estimate and fee-lock review rather than a fixed quote; platform withdrawals and eXRD transfers have separate charges.

Sources 2

Is Radix traceable?

Radix transactions and account activity are recorded on a public ledger; wallet account abstractions do not automatically make transfers anonymous. Transaction manifests and outcomes provide information about actions taken. Identity may be linked through application use or custodial records, even if an address does not display a name.

Supply, mining & staking

Can you mine Radix?

XRD is not mined through proof-of-work hardware. Radix uses delegated proof of stake, and network emissions support validators and delegators under protocol rules. Running unrelated mining software cannot create native XRD, and eXRD is an issued Ethereum representation rather than a separately mined coin.

Source 1

Can you stake Radix?

Yes, native XRD can be delegated to Radix validators to participate in network security and receive variable protocol rewards. Check the validator's commission, performance and current unstaking rules before committing. eXRD on Ethereum is not automatically staked in Radix consensus merely because it represents XRD.
