USDT exists on several blockchains. The ticker alone does not identify the network, and issuer reserve claims are not the same as a government guarantee.

How does Tether work?
Tether issues tokens against reserves and provides redemption under its published terms. The selected blockchain records transfers; it does not independently certify the reserves.
Separate a USDT transfer from issuer redemption. Sending tokens to another wallet changes who controls them, while cashing out requires an eligible service and its settlement process.
Tether's own documentation identifies Tether as the organization behind USDt and dates its launch to 2014. Do not confuse the issuer with an exchange that lists USDT.
For holder rights, the relevant issuing entity and current legal terms matter more than a founder biography. A lookalike token or mining app is not established as official by using Tether's name.
USDT is used to transfer dollar-linked value and trade against other assets on compatible services. It can provide a token-denominated settlement route where the recipient accepts the exact network.
USDT is not the same as a bank dollar deposit. Merchant acceptance, issuer redemption and exchange fiat withdrawal are different arrangements.
Look for a service that explicitly supports USDT purchases for your location and the withdrawal network you need. The presence of a CoinBBank buying guide is not a verified exchange listing.
Buying directly from Tether has different onboarding and minimum requirements from buying through a retail exchange. Check the issuer's fee page instead of assuming its direct service accepts a small retail order.

Verify the platform, intended USDT contract and receiving network before paying. Tether's protocol directory includes legacy networks that must not be mistaken for currently supported issuance and redemption routes.
Review the purchase and withdrawal separately. A USDT logo or a familiar-looking wallet address does not establish that your provider supports the token representation you selected.
USDT can be held in fractional amounts, but the trading service decides which purchase sizes it accepts. Do not confuse token divisibility with Tether's own direct purchase minimum.
For a small order, inspect the amount left after trading and withdrawal charges. A fraction that can be displayed in a wallet may still be below a service's order or withdrawal minimum.
USDT purchase cost depends on the route: a retail exchange quote, a swap and direct issuer issuance have different charges. Tether's published issuance fees do not establish an exchange's card or trading fee.
Compare your total payment with the net USDT received, including any withdrawal. Check liquidity and slippage for a swap rather than treating the dollar target as a guaranteed execution price.
USDT targets one US dollar, but a market quote is not Tether's direct redemption offer. Direct access has customer-eligibility, minimum-size and fee conditions; a small exchange balance does not automatically qualify.
This page's timestamped panel is an indicative market quote. Compare the actual net USDT or fiat received, not just proximity to the dollar target.
USDT targets dollar stability rather than price appreciation. Its reserves, redemption arrangements, supported protocols and custody provider create risks different from a bank deposit.
A product paying USDT yield adds its own counterparty or smart-contract exposure. Do not treat a dollar target as protection from loss or an entitlement to reserve profits. This is not financial advice.
Use USDT credited after buying fees and spread. Extra USD charges must exclude fees already included in the total. Enter 0 only when confirmed.

How do you get a Tether wallet?
Choose a wallet supporting the exact USDT network you intend to use. Tether lists different token identifiers for Ethereum, Tron, Solana and other supported protocols.
Follow the wallet developer's official backup instructions and confirm the mainnet token identifier. Importing an arbitrary token called USDT does not establish that it is issued by Tether.
Keep the keys or custodial account controlling USDT protected, and verify the network before each transfer. Avoid signing unknown token approvals or disclosing a recovery phrase.
A hardware wallet cannot guarantee Tether's reserves or redemption access. Key security, issuer risk and the terms of any yield product are separate questions.
For USDT, copy the exact network names shown in your apps. This compares your entries, not a verified list of supported networks.

Copy the exact network name shown for this asset in each app. No supported-network catalogue is assumed here.
How do you send Tether to another wallet?
Select the USDT protocol accepted by the recipient, verify its token identifier and review the destination and fee before signing. Ethereum USDT and Tron USDT are not interchangeable deposit instructions.
The same token name on two chains does not make a normal transfer a bridge. If the receiving service does not explicitly support your selected network, stop and clarify the route.
USDT has no single transfer time because it uses multiple host blockchains. On-chain inclusion, the recipient's confirmation policy and a custodian's withdrawal queue are separate stages.
Check which network was used and whether a transaction ID has been broadcast. A delayed exchange deposit does not necessarily mean the USDT token contract failed.
USDT transfer cost depends on the chosen blockchain and sending service. On Ethereum, an ordinary USDT transaction needs ETH for gas; the USDT balance alone may not cover it.
A custodial withdrawal charge is separate from the network's transaction fee. Compare the final withdrawal preview and token network rather than assuming all USDT routes have the same cost.
You may sell USDT through an eligible exchange or off-ramp that accepts your token network and supports your fiat withdrawal method. Confirm account access before transferring.
Direct Tether redemption has separate verification, minimum and fee requirements. A small exchange balance does not automatically qualify for issuer redemption, and deprecated network support needs special attention.
USDT transfers on public host chains leave records of token movements between addresses. Those records are not automatically real names, but account records and transaction patterns can link activity to a holder.
USDT is not an anonymity guarantee. The chain you use and the custodian's identity requirements also affect what information is exposed.
USDT does not have a Bitcoin-like fixed mining cap. Its supply changes through issuer issuance and redemption; Tether publishes dated circulation information.

Distinguish circulating tokens from authorized tokens and a permanent maximum. A historical supply figure or an old market-data snapshot cannot establish a lifetime ceiling.
USDT is issued by Tether, not mined through a USDT proof-of-work network. Host-chain miners or validators process transactions without becoming authorized USDT issuers.

A website offering USDT payouts for computing, lending or deposits is a separate service. Its payout currency does not make that activity Tether mining or establish issuer backing for the service.
USDT itself is not a proof-of-stake validator asset. Depositing it into a platform's earn or lending product is different from securing a blockchain with native staking.

Inspect the actual product's custody, lockup and loss terms. A quoted USDT return is not the token's dollar peg and is not a promise from Tether to pay reserve income.
