TRON
(TRX)

TRON is a smart-contract blockchain whose native currency is TRX. TRX pays network costs and participates in staking and voting, while TRC-20 assets are separate tokens issued by contracts on the network. Holding a TRC-20 stablecoin is not the same as holding TRX.

What is TRON?

How does TRON work?

TRON uses delegated proof of stake: voters elect Super Representatives to produce and validate blocks. Transactions consume Bandwidth, and smart-contract execution also consumes Energy. Available resources can cover these costs; otherwise network rules can burn TRX from the paying account.

Who created TRON?

Justin Sun founded TRON in 2017, according to TRON DAO's official introduction. The mainnet subsequently launched and the project adopted a DAO governance structure. Super Representatives and on-chain proposals now participate in network operation and parameter changes; the founder does not individually approve transfers.

Source 1

What is TRON used for?

TRX is used to pay resource-related transaction costs, obtain resources through staking and vote for Super Representatives. TRON also hosts applications and TRC-20 tokens. Sending one of those tokens may require TRX or available Energy, even though the transferred token is not TRX.

Where can you buy TRON?

Check an exchange or on-ramp's official site for current TRX availability, your eligibility and native TRON withdrawals. A supported TRC-20 stablecoin deposit does not prove that TRX trading or withdrawal is supported. Verify the precise asset and route before funding an account.

Before you buy

No unexpired public-catalogue observation is available in this saved guide. This is not a delisting claim or proof that earlier observations were incorrect. Confirm the exact asset, trading access and withdrawal network through the provider before buying. All exchange checklists remain available at the end of this guide.

Before fees and spread. Rounded display, not network precision or an exchange minimum. This is an estimate, not an exchange order quote.

Can you buy a fraction of TRON?

Yes. One TRX equals one million sun, so native TRX supports fractional amounts. Platform order and withdrawal minimums can be larger than that base unit. Leave enough available resources or TRX for transactions rather than assuming every tiny balance can be moved economically.

Sources 3

How much does it cost to buy TRON?

Buying TRX costs the executed price plus any spread, trading charge and payment processing fee. Withdrawing adds the platform's charge, which is not necessarily the underlying TRON resource cost. Check whether the receiving account needs activation and review the actual total before confirming.

Sources 3

How much is one TRON worth?

TRX is TRON's native asset, used in the network's resource and transaction economy. It should not be valued as though it were a dollar-denominated token merely because another token is transferred on TRON. Look for a quote specifically identifying TRX and its currency. For a purchase intended to fund transactions, also consider the account's resource needs; the exchange price and the cost of using the network are different questions.

Sources 3

Is TRON a good investment?

TRX is volatile and exposes holders to governance, validator concentration, liquidity and application risks. Staking does not make its fiat value stable, and supply can increase when reward issuance exceeds burning. Suitability depends on personal circumstances. This is not financial advice.

TRON wallets & storage

How do you get a TRON wallet?

Use a wallet with explicit TRON mainnet and native TRX support, downloaded from its official publisher. Securely back up the private key or recovery phrase. Receiving funds can activate a new account; check account-creation and resource requirements rather than assuming setup is always free.

Sources 2

How can you store TRON securely?

Protect your TRON recovery material offline and review transaction permissions before signing. TRON supports account permissions that can separate operational roles, but incorrect settings can compromise access. A custodial balance depends on the provider's controls, while self-custody makes key recovery your responsibility.

How do you send TRON to another wallet?

Choose native TRX on TRON, verify the recipient address and preview the transfer's resource or TRX cost. Check whether the destination account is active and follow any receiving-service instructions. Sign only after review and use the transaction ID to check inclusion and solidification.

Sources 2

How long does a TRON transfer take?

TRON block inclusion and solidification are different stages, and platforms can wait before crediting a deposit. A wallet broadcast is not proof that the receiver can spend the funds. Check the transaction status and the destination's policy instead of relying on a guaranteed arrival time.

Source 1

How much does it cost to send TRON?

TRON charges through Bandwidth and, for smart contracts, Energy; insufficient resources can trigger TRX burning. A simple native TRX transfer and a TRC-20 contract transfer therefore have different resource needs. Chain parameters, account activation and platform withdrawal charges can change the final cost.

Source 1

Is TRON traceable?

TRON records transactions and account activity on a public blockchain, so TRX is not anonymous cash. Addresses are not automatically legal names, but account activity and service-held identity records can be linked. Sharing an address or transaction ID can reveal financial activity.

Supply, mining & staking

What is the maximum supply of TRON?

TRX does not have a fixed total supply under the documented tokenomics. Block production and voter rewards create TRX, while resource-related fees burn it. The net result can be expansion or contraction; a historical period of deflation is not an immutable cap or a future promise.

Source 1

Can you mine TRON?

No. TRON uses delegated proof of stake rather than proof-of-work mining. Elected Super Representatives produce blocks, while eligible TRX stakers can vote and receive rewards under network rules. A website promising to mine TRX is describing another arrangement, not native mining.

Sources 2

Can you stake TRON?

Yes. Stake 2.0 locks TRX for resources and, under the current documented resource model, voting power for Super Representatives. Voting is needed for voter rewards; unused voting power does not generate them. Unstaking has a network-defined waiting period, and returns and parameters can change.
