How does Amp work?
Amp's contract can divide balances into partitions with different collateral-management rules, and authorized operators can move tokens under those rules. Ethereum records and executes those actions. Payment collateralization is therefore an application-level mechanism, not a new consensus system or a guarantee that every AMP transfer settles instantly.
Who created Amp?
Flexa developed Amp in close partnership with ConsenSys, according to Flexa's September 2020 launch announcement. AMP was introduced as a separate Ethereum collateral token replacing Flexacoin through a 1:1 migration, not as a new blockchain's native coin. The official Amp repository identifies the Ethereum mainnet contract. Development credit is distinct from an auditor's review or ownership of holders' tokens.
What is Amp used for?
AMP is designed as collateral supporting value-transfer applications, rather than requiring customers to spend AMP directly. Its contract partitions let collateral managers apply different rules. Verify the current application, supported collateral and withdrawal terms before depositing; the token contract alone does not establish that a particular payment pool is available.
Where can you buy Amp?
Check a platform's official AMP market, country restrictions and Ethereum deposit or withdrawal instructions before attempting a purchase. The project's contract address helps identify the token but does not establish platform availability. A Flexa payment option or collateral-pool link is not evidence that the same service sells AMP for fiat.

How can you buy Amp safely?
Verify AMP against the official Ethereum contract reference, protect the exchange account and review the complete purchase and withdrawal preview. Keep ETH for self-custody transactions. Do not accidentally approve a collateral manager when you only intend to receive tokens, and check current Capacity documentation rather than old pool tutorials.
Can you buy a fraction of Amp?
Yes. Amp's official contract code specifies 18 decimal places, so AMP supports fractional balances. Exchange order sizes and withdrawal minimums can be much larger than the smallest protocol unit. A fractional balance allocated to a collateral partition may also have different spending permissions from freely transferable AMP.
How much does it cost to buy Amp?
The total cost is the AMP order value plus spread, trading, funding and withdrawal charges. An Ethereum wallet needs ETH for a transfer or approval, and joining a collateral pool is a separate action. Do not assume a token purchase includes the cost or risk of subsequent collateral deployment.
How much is one Amp worth?
Compare a recent AMP reference with the executable order total. AMP is designed as collateral, but its contract does not peg its market price to a dollar or guarantee gains. Include spread, trading charges and Ethereum or platform withdrawal costs before deciding how much AMP an order delivers.
Is Amp a good investment?
AMP carries price, liquidity and smart-contract risks, and its collateral utility depends on actual payment demand and pool design. Operator permissions and collateral-manager rules can affect how deposited funds are used or withdrawn. A past audit or a payment-use claim is not insurance. This is not financial advice.

Amp wallets & storage
How do you get an Amp wallet?
Set up a wallet that supports Ethereum ERC-20 tokens and verify AMP's contract through the official repository before adding it. Back up the wallet credentials and retain ETH for transaction costs. The token contract address identifies AMP; it is not your personal receiving address or an exchange deposit address.
How can you store Amp securely?
Protect the keys for your Ethereum account and review AMP allowances and operator permissions, not just its visible balance. Collateral deposited in a pool has additional contract rules beyond wallet storage. Verify exact hardware integration if used; custodial holdings instead rely on the provider's account security and withdrawal policy.
Sending & cashing out Amp
Match your networks
For AMP, copy the exact network names shown in your apps. This compares your entries, not a verified list of supported networks.
Copy the exact network name shown for this asset in each app. No supported-network catalogue is assumed here.
How do you send Amp to another wallet?
Send ordinary AMP using an Ethereum-compatible recipient that accepts the official token, keeping ETH for gas. Follow an exchange's exact deposit instructions and test the route when appropriate. Amp's ordinary ERC-20 transfer draws from the default partition, so a total collateral balance may not all be immediately transferable.
How long does an Amp transfer take?
An AMP transfer depends on Ethereum transaction inclusion and finality, followed by the recipient's confirmation policy. Flexa's payment-collateral design does not make a wallet-to-wallet token transfer instant. A pool withdrawal or partition change can require extra transactions and application conditions before AMP becomes available to send.
How much does it cost to send Amp?
Ethereum AMP transfers pay gas in ETH, based on execution work and current gas pricing. A collateral-manager call or approval can use different resources from a simple transfer. AMP's payment role does not eliminate host-chain costs, and an exchange may impose a separate withdrawal charge.
Can you cash out Amp for real money?
You can cash out AMP only through a platform that accepts your tokens, supports a sale and permits fiat withdrawals for your account. Collateral may first need to be released through the relevant pool's current process. Receiving another token in a swap is not the same as receiving a bank payment.
Is Amp traceable?
AMP transfers and collateral events are recorded publicly on Ethereum. The official contract emits events for transfers, partition changes and operator actions, so payment collateral is not an anonymity feature. A real-world identity can be linked through a platform account, reused address or publicly disclosed transaction.
Supply, mining & staking
What is the maximum supply of Amp?
Flexa's published issuance policy retains Flexacoin's fixed fully diluted supply of 100 billion tokens for AMP. Its launch announcement describes a 1:1 migration, and Amp's contract source mints matching units when the designated source token is transferred to the graveyard address. This is the documented allocation and migration policy, not a live circulating-supply figure. Unmigrated FXC and replacement AMP are not separate full allocations.
Can you mine Amp?
No. AMP is an ERC-20-compatible collateral token and has no independent proof-of-work mining process. Its code describes swap-based minting rather than miner rewards. Supplying collateral to a payment pool is a different activity, and a third-party AMP mining offer should not be treated as a native protocol function.
Can you stake Amp?
AMP collateral commitments are application-level arrangements, not Ethereum consensus staking. The contract supports partitions and authorized collateral managers, but it does not establish current pool availability or reward terms. Verify the specific live application, withdrawal rules and loss exposure before depositing; collateral rewards and principal protection are not guaranteed.
