How does Yearn Finance work?
Yearn vaults allocate deposited assets to smart-contract strategies; YFI governs the ecosystem rather than representing every vault's assets. A vault deposit creates its own shares and strategy exposure. Merely holding YFI does not automatically enroll the holder in a vault or earn its advertised yield.
Who created Yearn Finance?
Yearn grew from Andre Cronje's early work and a contributor community. Its July 2020 governance notice documents Andre relinquishing personal minting authority to community-controlled governance. Today's Yearn is organized around contributors and governance participants, not a promise that one founder controls or guarantees every product.

Can you mine Yearn Finance?
YFI is not a proof-of-work mining coin. It is an ERC-20 governance token, and historical liquidity distributions or vault yield are not block-mining rewards.
