Akash Network
(AKT)

Akash Network is a decentralized cloud-computing marketplace, and AKT is its native blockchain asset. Providers offer computing resources while the chain records bids, leases and settlement. ACT, the cloud settlement denomination used by its burn-mint system, is distinct from AKT and should not be mistaken for the token you are buying.

What is Akash Network?

How does Akash Network work?

Akash coordinates cloud leases on a Cosmos/Tendermint-based blockchain, while providers run the actual workloads using Kubernetes. AKT supports network staking and transactions. Its burn-mint module converts AKT into ACT for settlement and can convert ACT back; buying AKT does not itself rent a server.

Who created Akash Network?

Greg Osuri and Adam Bozanich co-founded Akash Network. Bozanich describes their shared development work in Akash's own Mainnet 2 announcement. That attribution concerns the project's origin, not ownership of every provider or a guarantee that the founders can reverse an AKT transaction.

Source 1

What is Akash Network used for?

AKT is used for Akash transaction fees, validator delegation and governance, with ACT conversion supporting cloud settlement. The network's practical service is leasing computing resources from providers. A managed Console workflow may abstract token handling, so owning AKT is not the same as having an active cloud deployment.

Where can you buy Akash Network?

Buy AKT only through a platform whose official trading and withdrawal pages currently support it for your account. Availability must be checked on that platform, not inferred from this site's exchange matrix. Confirm whether delivery is native Akash AKT or a bridged representation before selecting a wallet.

How much Akash Network?

Before fees and spread. Rounded display, not network precision or an exchange minimum. This is an estimate, not an exchange order quote.

Can you buy a fraction of Akash Network?

Yes, AKT supports fractional amounts: Akash's CLI examples use uakt, with 1,000,000 uakt representing one AKT. A platform can still impose a larger minimum order or withdrawal. Compare those minimums with your intended transfer rather than assuming the protocol unit is a purchasable order size.

Sources 2

How much is one Akash Network worth?

Use this page's timestamped dynamic reference panel for AKT's indicative market value. AKT is not ACT, even though the protocol can convert between those denominations. Check the actual AKT order preview, spread and withdrawal charge because a reference price is not an executable quote.

Sources 2

Is Akash Network a good investment?

AKT carries market risk and depends on demand for decentralized computing, reliable providers and evolving network economics. The burn-mint mechanism and staking parameters create additional considerations beyond a simple fixed-supply narrative. Cloud-marketplace adoption does not guarantee AKT appreciation or a return. This is not financial advice.

Akash Network wallets & storage

How do you get an Akash Network wallet?

Choose software that explicitly supports Akash mainnet and AKT, or use the documented Akash CLI keyring workflow. Record your recovery material securely and verify the network before receiving funds. A managed Console balance and an independently controlled AKT wallet have different custody arrangements.

Sources 2

How can you store Akash Network securely?

Keep Akash recovery material offline and protect the device that signs AKT transactions. The CLI documents OS-backed and encrypted-file keyrings; its unencrypted test backend is for testing, not valuable balances. Check exact Akash support before choosing hardware, and understand who controls keys in a managed wallet.

How do you send Akash Network to another wallet?

Select native AKT, enter the recipient's compatible Akash address and review the bank-send transaction before signing. Keep AKT for gas rather than sending the entire spendable balance. If the recipient is an exchange, use its exact network and any memo instructions; bridged assets require a separate supported route.

Sources 2

How long does an Akash Network transfer take?

An AKT transfer needs acceptance by the Akash chain, followed by whatever crediting policy the recipient uses. Cloud escrow settlement and ordinary bank sends are different operations. Check the transaction result and recipient account status rather than treating a block interval or wallet notification as guaranteed arrival.

Sources 2

How much does it cost to send Akash Network?

Native Akash transactions pay gas in AKT, with CLI gas prices expressed in uakt per gas unit. Estimate the specific bank send before signing and leave a fee balance. Exchange withdrawal charges and fees for conversion into ACT are separate from the cost of a simple AKT transfer.

Sources 2

Is Akash Network traceable?

AKT transfers and Akash marketplace activity are recorded on the blockchain, so do not assume anonymity. Public addresses can be connected to identified exchange accounts or other activity. The transparency of leases does not mean every file or workload running at a cloud provider is public onchain.

Supply, mining & staking

What is the maximum supply of Akash Network?

Akash's historical issuance model put maximum AKT supply at roughly 389 million, starting from 100 million at genesis, as recounted in AEP-22. That page is explicitly a draft economics discussion, not a final implementation specification. The current CLI also documents burning AKT for ACT and reminting AKT when ACT is burned. The historical figure is therefore a published model, not proof of an immutable current ceiling or a measurement of circulating AKT.

Sources 2

Can you mine Akash Network?

AKT is not mined through Bitcoin-style proof of work. Akash documents validator delegation and proof-of-stake security; running a cloud provider supplies computing services instead. Provider income, validator rewards and buying AKT are distinct activities with different operating costs and risks.

Sources 3

Can you stake Akash Network?

Yes, AKT can be delegated to Akash validators using documented staking transactions. This supports the blockchain, not the execution of an individual cloud workload. Check validator performance, commission, slashing exposure and current unbonding rules before delegating; neither token rewards nor their fiat value are guaranteed.
