Blast
(BLAST)

Blast is an Ethereum Layer 2 network, while BLAST is a separate token used in its governance and incentive ecosystem. The network uses ETH as its native transaction currency and supports rebasing ETH and USDB balances. Buying BLAST is therefore not the same as buying ETH, holding USDB, or acquiring an automatic claim on their yield.

How does Blast work?

Blast processes EVM transactions as an optimistic Ethereum rollup, with sequencer inclusion and later Ethereum publication representing different confirmation stages. BLAST transfers are token transactions within that infrastructure, not blocks on an independent BLAST proof-of-work chain. Its ETH and USDB yield mechanisms concern those underlying assets; they should not be assigned to the BLAST token itself.

Who created Blast?

Blast's official About page presents contributors associated with Pacman, the pseudonymous creator of the Blur NFT marketplace. Its governance documentation separately defines the Blast Foundation's role and bylaws, rather than treating the foundation as every developer or token holder. A legal-name founder attribution was not verified here, and the historical About page's old airdrop messaging is not current claim guidance.

What is Blast used for?

BLAST is used for ecosystem governance and program-specific incentives, not as Blast's native gas currency. The documented Blast Mobile Earn application also lets BLAST balances affect the reward multiplier on USDB deposits. That application-specific role is distinct from protocol validation and from the rebasing of ETH or USDB; campaign rules do not create a guaranteed token-holder return.

Where can you buy Blast?

A current BLAST trading venue with verified country, deposit, and withdrawal support was not established here. Check the platform's own listing and chain policy, then compare its token identity with Blast's official tokenomics and bridge documentation. Blast Mobile onboarding options and exchange logos do not prove BLAST spot trading or a particular BLAST withdrawal network is available to your account.

Before fees and spread. Rounded display, not network precision or an exchange minimum. This is an estimate, not an exchange order quote.

How can you buy Blast safely?

Reduce BLAST purchase risks by verifying the chain and token contract rather than trusting a ticker, reward claim, or airdrop link. Blast's documentation records the retirement of Phase 2 points and Gold in favor of different reward mechanics, so historical eligibility pages are not proof of a claim today. Review approval scope and keep the ETH needed for your chosen on-chain route.

Sources 3

Can you buy a fraction of Blast?

A fractional BLAST purchase is subject to the venue's supported quantity increments and minimum order, neither of which was verified here. The token's exact decimal configuration also needs checking for the chain being used; a rounded balance display is not a reliable specification. BLAST quantities are separate from the ETH balance required to pay Blast network gas.

Sources 3

How much does it cost to buy Blast?

Obtaining BLAST can involve an order spread, trading and funding charges, plus transfer costs for the selected route. On Blast, an on-chain swap or token approval consumes ETH, not BLAST gas. If the purchase route includes an Ethereum withdrawal, budget for the separate approval, withdrawal, proof, and claim transactions shown by that route rather than assuming one quoted trading fee covers everything.

Sources 2

How much is one Blast worth?

One BLAST has a variable trading price and is not pegged to the value of USDB or ETH. Use the timestamped market display, then check an executable quote for the correct BLAST token and order size. Market prices may differ from what you receive after spread and charges, and Blast's native-yield descriptions are not a BLAST price guarantee.

Is Blast a good investment?

BLAST is a volatile ecosystem token, not a stablecoin or a guaranteed yield-bearing ETH position. Relevant risks include allocation unlocks, changing incentive programs, governance execution, bridge contracts, and the underlying network's dependencies. Blast's use of ETH staking and stablecoin-related protocols adds separate risks to those products, but does not guarantee BLAST holders a return. This is not financial advice.

Blast wallets & storage

How do you get a Blast wallet?

For ordinary Blast mainnet use, configure an EVM wallet using the official guide, which demonstrates MetaMask and chain ID 81457. The network's currency symbol is ETH, while BLAST is a token balance that may need importing from its verified contract. Blast Mobile uses a different smart-account model, so its account address and recovery process should not be assumed identical to a standard wallet's.

Sources 2

How can you store Blast securely?

Secure BLAST according to the wallet's actual signing and recovery model. Blast Mobile's exported seed phrase belongs to its signer account, not directly to the smart-contract account holding the displayed balance; importing it into MetaMask produces a different address. Follow the documented recovery process and protect backups from disclosure, rather than assuming every wallet import restores the same BLAST account or provides guaranteed protection.

Copy the exact network name shown for this asset in each app. No supported-network catalogue is assumed here.

How do you send Blast to another wallet?

Send BLAST on the network the recipient explicitly supports, after confirming the token contract and retaining ETH for gas on Blast. Moving BLAST from Blast to Ethereum is a bridge withdrawal with approval and later Ethereum steps, not a normal token send. The bridge's regular-wallet guide does not cover smart-contract wallets, so a Blast Mobile or Safe account needs its appropriate withdrawal procedure.

Sources 2

How long does a Blast transfer take?

A BLAST transfer's timing depends on its confirmation stage and whether it crosses chains. Blast distinguishes pending, sequencer-confirmed, Ethereum-published, and finalized states, so an early wallet confirmation is not the same as final settlement. A canonical Ethereum withdrawal also has proof and claim stages with a challenge wait; check its current status rather than promising a fixed arrival time or immediate exchange credit.

Sources 2

How much does it cost to send Blast?

BLAST transfers on Blast require ETH gas, with the charge depending on the transaction and current fee conditions. Use the wallet's complete estimate rather than treating the BLAST amount as the fee balance or assuming native yield makes transfers free. Bridging may require additional Ethereum transactions, while a custodial platform can impose its own withdrawal charge beyond network costs.

Sources 2

Can you cash out Blast for real money?

BLAST can be converted to bank money only through a supported sale and fiat-payout service; no such account-specific route was verified here. Confirm the service accepts the precise BLAST representation before depositing, including whether an Ethereum bridge withdrawal is necessary. Receiving BLAST on Ethereum, swapping to USDB, or viewing an Earn balance is not itself a bank cashout.

Sources 3

Is Blast traceable?

Ordinary BLAST token transactions on Blast are publicly inspectable through its block explorer and transaction records. An EVM address or a Blast Mobile smart-account address is not a privacy guarantee, and bridge operations create additional cross-chain records. Those records identify addresses rather than necessarily naming their owners, but counterparties and custodians may hold information connecting an address to a real person.

Supply, mining & staking

What is the maximum supply of Blast?

Blast publishes 100 billion BLAST as its total token allocation, with portions assigned to the community, contributors, investors and foundation. Its tokenomics also specifies vesting schedules, so the allocated total is different from the amount unlocked or circulating at a given time. This is the project's published supply model, not an independent guarantee that deployed mint controls impose an unchangeable ceiling.

Source 1

Can you mine Blast?

BLAST is not mined through a native proof-of-work block reward. It is an allocated ecosystem token on an Ethereum rollup, while Blast's documented Earn application distributes program emissions under its own deposit and multiplier rules. Points, Gold, or app labels referring to earning are not evidence of a hashing-based consensus system or a hardware-mining opportunity.

Sources 2

Can you stake Blast?

Native validator staking of the BLAST token was not established by the protocol documents reviewed. Blast's ETH yield comes from underlying ETH staking arrangements, whereas BLAST deposits in the Earn application affect USDB reward multipliers. An application advertising BLAST staking or earnings therefore needs its own contract, custody, and exit review; it should not be described as staking BLAST to validate Ethereum.
