How does Decentraland work?
MANA balances and transfers are recorded by token smart contracts, while Decentraland's world and content systems run separately. Its marketplace distinguishes Ethereum MANA from Polygon MANA. MANA is not the native gas coin of either chain, and a token transfer does not move your avatar or LAND.
Who created Decentraland?
The Decentraland white paper credits Esteban Ordano, Ariel Meilich, Yemel Jardi and Manuel Araoz. That attribution describes the original project document, not exclusive present-day control.
